As Director of Financial Planning* at Pettinelli Financial Partners, Cooper Grady oversees the development and leadership of the firm’s financial planning team. His focus includes providing comprehensive planning support to the advisory team, managing the planning team’s operations, and maintaining a high standard of client relationship management and service. Cooper also provides coaching to team members and is responsible for the oversight of planning processes and the tools and technology used to support the firm’s planning strategies.

Cooper earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Eastern Illinois University and holds several respected designations within the financial services industry, including CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Chartered Financial Consultant®, Chartered Life Underwriter®, Registered Social Security Analyst®, and Behavioral Financial Advisor™.

With a strong background in wealth management, Cooper brings experience from working with several advisory firms in South Carolina and, most recently, with Marathon Financial Group in Boston, MA. His work has centered on helping firms strengthen their financial planning frameworks, customizing personal financial plans for a wide range of client needs, and supporting advisors in business development and long-term client relationship management.

Originally from Central Illinois, Cooper believes education and diligence are critical components of long-term success. As he puts it: “You don’t have to know everything or every answer, but you need to be able to find those answers quickly, accurately, and transparently.” Cooper is a long-time advocate of the Special Olympics and regularly donates blood in his local community. Outside of work, he and his wife enjoy traveling and discovering new places together.

Diana Pastrana

Diana Pastrana has been a valued member of the Pettinelli Financial Partners team since 2021. She began her journey with the firm as a Paraplanner and quickly distinguished herself through initiative, reliability, and a thoughtful approach to client service.

Today, Diana plays a key role in ensuring that client families receive planning support from our advisors, complemented by timely and detail-oriented service. In addition to her client work, she provides mentorship to members of the Paraplanning team and collaborates closely with our Financial Advisor group to support the delivery of comprehensive financial strategies.

Diana holds a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from San Francisco State University, providing her with a strong academic background. She also maintains several professional licenses, including the Series 7 (held with LPL Financial) and Series 63 and 66 (held through LPL Financial and Stratos Wealth Partners), as well as California Life, Accident, and Health Insurance licenses. These credentials reflect her commitment to ongoing professional development and her understanding of the tools available in financial planning.

Diana’s perspective is shaped in part by her family’s immigrant background from Mexico and El Salvador. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she recognizes the importance of sound financial guidance and the positive impact it can have on individuals and families from all walks of life.

A proud Daly City native, Diana enjoys spending quality time with her close-knit family and exploring new cuisines with friends. In May 2025, she embraced an exciting new chapter — welcoming her first child, Ella Love. As a new mom, Diana finds even deeper purpose in her work and is inspired by the future she's helping build for her own family and others.

Eric Birdthistle is a dedicated Paraplanner at Pettinelli Financial Partners (PFP), where he supports the firm’s financial advisors in delivering personalized financial strategies. His role involves gathering and analyzing financial data, creating customized reports, and preparing detailed presentations to help clients understand their financial options and recommendations clearly. 

Eric also collaborates closely with advisors to manage client relationships, ensuring that service needs are met with care and attention. He actively monitors client accounts, tracks progress on financial plans, and provides updates on any changes that may affect their strategies, always aiming to deliver proactive guidance.

Eric joined PFP in 2024 while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Commerce with a major in Finance at Santa Clara University. His strong academic foundation and enthusiasm for financial planning allow him to contribute significantly to the firm’s success.

Outside of work, Eric enjoys cheering on Bay Area sports teams, exploring the outdoors, and coaching club lacrosse. His dedication to helping clients work towards their financial goals and his enthusiasm for building strong relationships make him a valuable asset to the PFP team.

As a Financial Advisor, Genevieve brings a notable career in financial services and entrepreneurship to Pettinelli Financial Partners. Specializing in serving the special needs community, her comprehensive blend of professional skills and personal experience makes her a valued team member. She is an advocate for families navigating the complex environment of government benefits and financial tools, and helps connect families to additional professionals who can help secure the financial future of their loved one with special needs.

Her passion for advocacy comes from her personal life. Genevieve is married with two sons, one with special needs. It’s been a journey the family has been working through since he was two years old. Navigating the healthcare system, IEP process, school resources and family needs inspired her to help other parents facing similar obstacles. She knows firsthand how lonely and overwhelming it can be to navigate large behaviors, career and family while juggling all the “extra”. Her commitment to community is all about turning her challenges into blessings for others.

Genevieve graduated from the University St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Business Administration. She is professionally licensed in Life, Accident and Health insurance in addition to holding investment licenses Series 6 & 63 (held with LPL Financial), & 65 (held Stratos Wealth Partners).

Along with her husband and two children, she loves camping, traveling, reading, movie nights, downhill skiing, being at the lake, and building and fixing stuff around the house. Sundays in the fall are made for football and cooking on the smoker. And in winter you’ll find them attending school plays and youth nights. Jackson’s responsibilities include assisting in the development of case plans, preparing client presentations, and managing client relationships, ensuring that every client receives personalized and thoughtful financial guidance.

Jackson joined PFP in 2024 and prior to joining the firm, he worked as a Financial Services Representative with Northwestern Mutual in 2023. His previous roles also include working as a Financial Analyst & Audit Intern with Exelon (ComEd) in 2022 and as a Data Entry Specialist with ENT Specialists of Illinois in 2021.

A graduate of Bucknell University, Jackson earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. His educational background and professional experiences have equipped him with a solid foundation in finance, which he leverages to assist clients and advisors at PFP.

Outside of work, Jackson lives in San Mateo and enjoys an active lifestyle that includes golfing, a sport in which he competed at the Division 1 level, as well as hiking, kayaking, and watching and following various sports. He also has a passion for cooking and enjoys engaging in strategy games.

His journey with PFP has come full circle—he began his career in finance working alongside Dennis Pettinelli in 2004. Over the years, Joe has received several industry recognitions, including the Million Dollar Round Table Award from John Hancock.

In his role, Joe focuses on managing, serving, and deepening client relationships. He offers personalized financial advice, creates and implements financial plans, provides ongoing reviews, and works in partnership with the firm’s planning and client service teams to deliver a coordinated and attentive client experience.

With a background in music performance and teaching, Joe brings a natural ability to educate and clearly communicate financial concepts. His clients value his thoughtful approach when discussing financial planning strategies, investment options, and insurance solutions. Luke Mokma joined Pettinelli Financial Partners in 2026 as a Financial Advisor. He brings close to a decade of experience in the financial services industry and works closely with clients to provide financial planning guidance and investment advice tailored to their individual goals and circumstances.

In his role, Luke partners with clients to help them navigate important financial decisions throughout different stages of life. He believes financial planning is an ongoing process that evolves over time as personal goals, family needs, and financial situations change. His approach emphasizes clear communication, thoughtful planning, and building long-term relationships with clients.

Prior to joining Pettinelli Financial Partners, Luke served in advisory roles with The Bishoff Financial Group and Koa Wealth Management, where he worked with individuals and families on wealth management and financial planning strategies.

Nora Gasparyan joined Pettinelli Financial Partners as a Support Advisor with the objective of supporting financial advisors in building strong relationships with our client families. She offers important details and intelligence to assist advisors in developing comprehensive financial plans. Nora provides as many facts and a variety of research that will assist financial advisors in addressing clients’ financial planning needs. In addition, she focuses on offering strategic insights into financial guidance using her background in working for well-known banks for over 5 years.

Nora received her degree in Finance and Financial Planning Administration from Sacramento State University. She has earned her investment licenses Series 6, held through LPL Financial, and Series 63, held through LPL Financial and Stratos Wealth Partners as well as her California State life insurance license. 

Actively involved in her church community, Nora volunteers with the young children and contributes her time to seniors living in the local long term care facility. She has a passion to help people in all walks of life which led her to a career in financial. Although a current resident of San Mateo County, Nora was born and raised in Armenia until she was 11 years old and grew up in the Sacramento area. She and her husband enjoy the beach, hiking, and being with family.

Renata Carico is a Financial Advisor with Pettinelli Financial Partners (PFP). In her role at PFP, she combines her financial planning and investment expertise as well as her education in engineering with her life experiences to not only guide clients in their pursuit of their financial goals and dreams, but also to mentor them throughout the process. Her focus is on developing meaningful client relationships and client confidence to actively participate in their pursuit of financial independence.

Renata began her wealth management as a financial consultant and financial advisor with Charles Schwab where she effectively built and managed her client practice with an emphasis on creating deep client relationships. Most recently, in addition to building her personal practice, she was a Financial Advisor with BluPeak Credit Union and Investment Services.

Why did Renata choose PFP for her own personal journey as a financial advisor? She was attracted to the PFP philosophy of working with a robust, talented team to strengthen and support her goals to guide and counsel clients for the long-term. In fact, Renata believes strongly in the PFP team philosophy of “working with a common purpose” to help create the best possible outcomes for clients. She is also a mentor for newer advisors who can turn to her for assistance and advice on how to connect with clients often helping new advisors learn from her past experiences.

Renata graduated from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana with her BS degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. She obtained her Series 7 license held through LPL Financial and Series 66 license held through LPL Financial and Stratos Wealth Partners in investments.

A mother of four adult children, Renata is also a fitness enthusiast who enjoys weight training, road biking, and hiking. Rick Rodriguez is one of the experienced Financial Advisors with Pettinelli Financial Partners (PFP). As a member of a team that advises and supports the firm’s client family, he provides guidance and strategies that help them plan for and preserve the clients’ financial futures. Rick’s client base includes individuals, families, and business owners.

Rick has over 10 years of experience as an advisor and was attracted to PFP because of the firm’s team-based advisory and long-term client relationship model that focuses on the financial health and well-being of the client. “My main objective is to concentrate on the best interests of our clients encompassing personalization in planning and implementation along with the strength of the team working together toward pursuing each client’s unique goals.”

A graduate of California State University East Bay, Rick majored in Business Administration with a minor in Economics.

Rick lives in Alameda where he and his wife are raising three young children bringing camping and learning from the woods to their experiences. Rick is a die-hard sports fan, especially baseball. He is one of the founders of Diamond Skills Camp in Alameda, an organization that offers skill development, individual growth, and team dynamics for youth baseball ages 5 – 12. The Camp also trains and mentors aspiring coaches in leadership and management.

Ryan Callan joined Pettinelli Financial Partners (PFP) in 2021 as a paraplanner following his graduation from California State University, Chico, with a degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Finance. He first started his financial career with PFP as an intern in 2018 after completing his freshman year of college. He continued to work with the firm during school breaks. Shortly after graduation, PFP invited Ryan to join the financial service firm full time.

As a financial advisor, Ryan focuses on supporting the firm’s advisor teams with building financial plans, providing dynamic client contact, service, and follow-up, as well as assisting the teams with research. He was particularly drawn to joining PFP because of the firm’s emphasis on teamwork and his belief that working together makes an organization stronger. Ryan currently holds his Series 7 license held through LPL Financial, Series 66 license held through LPL Financial and Stratos Wealth Partners, and recently acquired his CA Life and Health license (CA Insurance License #4231874).

In addition to working in financial services, Ryan has experience in customer service through
his employment with Northern Star Mills, a Chico, historic feed, agriculture, and gardening center established in 1898. He also served as a junior counselor at a summer youth computer programming camp that focused on robotics. During the COVID pandemic, Ryan volunteered for the San Carlos Second Harvest Food Bank as a delivery specialist to ensure that food supplies were received by people in need.

A native of San Carlos, Ryan enjoys getting out in the Pacific Ocean, surfing his longboard, body surfing shore breakers, and open water swimming. When he is not surfing, Ryan spends time with his close family and exploring the Bay Area with his friends. Zachary Windes joined Pettinelli Financial Partners in 2026 as a Paraplanner. He brings more than six years of experience in the financial services industry and provides analytical and operational support to the advisory team in the delivery of financial planning services.

In his role, Zach works closely with advisors to support the preparation and organization of client planning materials and analyses. His responsibilities include gathering and organizing client data, preparing cash flow and retirement analyses, assisting with portfolio reviews, and developing materials for client meetings. He also supports meeting preparation, documentation, and follow-up to help ensure a consistent and organized client experience.

Zach has experience supporting high-net-worth individuals and families and is focused on delivering accurate, timely, and detail-oriented work. He values organization, collaboration, and clear communication in supporting both the advisory team and client service efforts.

Prior to joining Pettinelli Financial Partners, Zach held roles with Aspiriant, a wealth management family office, where he supported advisors in serving high-net-worth clients, including assisting with portfolio analysis and planning-related data preparation. He also gained experience in corporate finance and accounting at Boston Properties and began his career at Deloitte as a Tax Consultant, where he developed a strong foundation in tax-related analysis.

Zach earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Sonoma State University and applies his academic background alongside his professional experience to support the firm’s planning and client service processes.

Zach lives in San Francisco with his wife, Jessica, and their son, Theo. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, traveling, and exploring restaurants and outdoor activities throughout the Bay Area.

Halle Marquard is a dedicated Client Service Associate at Pettinelli Financial Partners (PFP), where she is responsible for providing dynamic client service and managing day-to-day servicing of clients and account maintenance. Halle's focus is on delivering personalized support to clients, acting as their key point of contact for all account-related requests.

Halle graduated from Menlo College with a degree in Business Finance in just 3 years, achieving Dean's list each year and becoming a member of the Beta Gama Sigma Honor Society. She also completed a five-month internship with a private equity firm based in San Francisco, where she honed her financial knowledge and skills.

Prior to her transition to the service department, Halle worked as a Paraplanner at PFP, where she provided her team of advisors with research, preparation, and follow-up support for financial planning. Her experience also includes valuable client service and quality assurance skills gained from working in a luxury retail organization and volunteering at the YMCA and as a soccer coach.

Outside of work, Halle is a devoted fan of the San Jose Sharks and San Francisco Giants. She also enjoys painting and spending time with her cat, family, and close friends. Halle's commitment to providing exceptional client service and her passion for finance make her a valuable asset to the PFP team.

Janice joined Pettinelli Financial Partners in 2007; her journey started as a client before being asked to join as a staff member. Currently, she is the Client Relationship Manager and oversees the service department. In doing so, she is responsible for managing and enhancing the firm’s interactions with current and future clients and applies her organizational skills with her keen client perspective when servicing clients by building lasting relationships with clients. Janice often describes seeing her role as an extension of the advisor/client relationship. She says the best philosophy for success is to put yourself in the client’s shoes – treat others how you would want to be treated. Janice holds her Series 6 and 63 licenses through LPL Financial and Series 65 license through Stratos Wealth Partners and the California Life and Health license CA Lic #0F98363. As a first-time grandmother, she spends as much time as she can in Oregon to visit her grandson. She also enjoys baking and trying out new recipes in her free time.

Nicholas Gurevich is a Client Service Associate with Pettinelli Financial Partners (PFP) working with a team of advisors to provide service excellence to clients of PFP. He focuses on assisting advisors with a number of responsibilities, including handling client service questions and requests, creating and maintaining a streamlined calendar between advisors and clients, and being a key player on the team to help provide clear communications, accurate administration of client accounts and technical support.

A graduate of the University of Oregon in Eugene, OR, Nicholas received his Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Russian and East European Studies. His focus on a liberal arts education and learning enlightenment provides him with great communications skills and also led him to additional studies in economics and finance.

Prior to joining PFP, Nicholas began his financial services career with Wells Fargo, in Burlingame, CA. At Wells Fargo, he used his skills to assist customers in a fast-paced environment by supporting their financial goals and putting his communications, accounting, computer and database capabilities to good work.

Originally from the Bay area, Nicholas currently resides in San Mateo. He is a frequent patron of the arts and theatre scene, especially shows put on by the local high schools.

Allison Steele

Allison Steele is the Office Manager at Pettinelli Financial Partners (PFP), and oversees all aspects of business operations, client administration, and human resources. Allison joined the company in 2016, bringing over a decade of experience in customer service and management as the Event Coordinator bringing her passion for building strong client connections and incorporating impactful marketing, advertising, and event management skills to the firm. She was soon promoted to Client Relationship Manager supporting the PFP advisor teams by preparing case materials, handling service requests, and strengthening client relationships.

In January 2019, Allison was promoted to her current role, working closely with the firm's leadership team to help provide smooth and efficient operations of the firm. She formulates the annual business plan with the business owner that includes firm and individual revenue, growth, and operational goals. She designs and implements key business systems and procedures, creates, and maintains all firm policies and procedures, and establishes rules and standards for business operations. As the primary liaison with outside consultants and vendors, Allison manages priorities, workflow, and successful relationships that drive performance improvements and promote long-term business success. Additionally, she manages the firm's Human Resources operations, including hiring and onboarding/offboarding process, goal setting, coaching, reporting, and tracking, and the firm's overall performance management, payroll, benefits, and internship program. Allison partners with the leadership team to implement best practices for a positive and supportive employee experience.

A native to the Bay Area, Allison was born and raised in South San Francisco and now resides in San Mateo with her partner, Sylvia, and dog, a Chihuahua Terrier mix named Sir Benedict Blanco. She enjoys adventure and taking impromptu foodie road trips to find California's delicious hidden gems and discover new sights. In her free time, she is an avid sports fan, with a well-founded love for the San Francisco Giants, Golden State Warriors, and the Kansas City Royals. Additionally, Allison is a self-proclaimed Disney fanatic, visiting the park regularly with a special fondness for The Little Mermaid.

Heike Schuster is the Executive Assistant at Pettinelli Financial Partners, where she plays a
key role in supporting the President and leadership team with strategic scheduling, operational oversight, project coordination, and client-facing preparation. She joined the firm in May 2025, bringing more than a decade of experience in high-level executive support across a range of industries.

Prior to joining Pettinelli Financial Partners, Heike served in a multifaceted role as Executive
Assistant and Office & Marketing Manager for a global technology firm. There, she led
regional operations, oversaw pre-sales activities, managed vendor relationships, coordinated
international communications, and handled a wide range of administrative functions.
Her earlier experience also includes event and project management as well as marketing
consulting within both the corporate and wellness sectors across the U.S. and Europe.

Fluent in English and German, Heike holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the
University of Maryland and an Associate of Science in Business Administration. She resides
in Mountain View, California, and remains active outside the office as an avid skier, reader,
and lifelong learner.

Her career has spanned leadership roles in business development, catering management, and full-service event planning—making her well-equipped to design and execute meaningful, personalized experiences for clients and partners.

At PFP, Jewel is responsible for planning and coordinating the firm’s client appreciation events and internal gatherings. She collaborates closely with team members and external vendors to ensure every event reflects the firm’s culture and relationship-focused approach. Known for her creativity and attention to detail, Jewel strives to deliver events that are thoughtful, engaging, and memorable.

Originally from the Bay Area and now residing in San Mateo, Jewel is passionate about community involvement. She has volunteered with organizations such as the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the San Mateo Chamber of Commerce, where she supports local business initiatives and civic engagement.

Outside of work, Jewel enjoys birdwatching, craft beer tastings, and exploring the outdoors. She spends her free time hiking and running among the Redwoods and along the Mendocino Coast—with binoculars often in hand, ready to spot her next feathered friend.

He oversees and coordinates the day-to-day administration, information systems, client service, human resources, training, processes, and overall client experience for PFP.

After completing a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from San Jose State University, Jon joined Pettinelli Financial Partners in 2005. His role began streamlining day-to-day operations, including implementing advanced financial planning software as a more sophisticated planning tool for advisors and clients while strengthening financial processes and procedures, continuing in the growth and the evolution of the firm.

Jon purchased the firm from his father, and founder, Dennis Pettinelli in January 2019. While Dennis remains an active contributor and ambassador for PFP, Jon has led the firm to implement structural and organizational changes to help provide greater customer satisfaction, advisor guidance and development, as well as operational efficiencies and productivity. Under his leadership, he, along with the whole PFP team, has grown the firm through a more robust and fulfilling team model. By combining the core of Dennis’ philosophy of building deep client relationships with new, experienced executive management, strong teams, financial planning expertise, cutting-edge technologies, and enhanced client experiences, Jon believes that PFP has built a legacy of caring for our client family for many generations to come.

Jon holds his Series 7 license with LPL Financial and Series 66 license through Stratos Wealth Partners, as well as his California Insurance License #0G131152.

In his spare time, Jon enjoys meeting up with friends to watch or attend sporting events such as the San Francisco Giants, the Golden State Warriors, and the San Francisco 49ers. You can also find him barbequing and attending Redwood City’s Music on the Square summer concert series.

Tom Ryan joined Pettinelli Financial Partners in 2025 as Chief Operations Officer, bringing over 30 years of experience in organizational operations, brand management, customer service, M&A execution, process optimization, and staff development. In his role, Tom oversees the firm’s day-to-day operations and is responsible for ensuring that all client-facing operational transactions are delivered with consistency, precision, and care.

With a respected track record of leading successful operational strategies across a variety of industries—including pivotal roles at companies such as Amdahl Corporation, Oracle, Illustra, Informix, Actuate, SuccessFactors, Okta, and NTT Security Holdings—Tom brings a disciplined, client-centric perspective to Pettinelli Financial Partners. His leadership focuses on aligning systems, improving operational efficiency, and elevating service quality through technology integration and cybersecurity readiness.

As COO, Tom leads the charge in establishing key performance metrics, streamlining processes, and ensuring functional alignment across all departments. Above all, he is deeply committed to empowering PFP’s employees, fostering an environment where team members are supported in reaching their full potential. His ultimate goal is to enhance the firm's mission of helping clients realize their life ambitions through personalized and strategic financial guidance.

Tom holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from San Francisco State University and a Master of Business Administration in International Management from the College of Notre Dame. He resides in San Carlos, California, with his wife Lorelei, and is the proud father of Molly, Katie, and Carl. Outside of work, he enjoys handball, weightlifting, and swimming.

Dennis Pettinelli is the Founder of Pettinelli Financial Partners. He began his career in the financial services industry over 40 years ago. For 25 of those years, he was responsible for recruiting, training, and developing John Hancock professionals across Northern California. Dennis has built an organization centered on financial education and personalized guidance to help clients make informed decisions for both the present and the future. His team of associates serves a multi-generational clientele who value the firm’s long-standing commitment to personalized, relationship-driven service and support. Dennis’ strong belief in the importance of multi-generational planning is reflected in the firm’s second-generation team of financial professionals.

Past industry achievements include multiple memberships to the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table’s “Top of the Table,” which is bestowed upon the top 800 financial professionals worldwide. Dennis is active in his community believing strongly in giving back. He is a long time member of the Belmont Rotary Club where he personally funds at least one teacher grant per year, and also regularly donates to the local church parishes, most notably Immaculate Heart of Mary. In addition, Dennis was the first-ever recipient of the Notre Dame de Namur University community service award given to the person who most exemplifies altruism to the community. Considering himself a life coach, Dennis believes that consumers are more educated today than ever before and that when given the correct information, they will make good decisions. To this end, Dennis works with people to develop and implement their own financial plans. He believes that the value he brings to the equation is his wisdom, and in the 40 years he has been practicing,
he has seen just about everything. Dennis is an avid sports fan, and his personal philosophy on life is parodied by baseball. Everyday, everyone is given three or four opportunities to be successful. And whether you are successful or not, tomorrow there is another game. And just like in baseball, no one can be successful in life without other players on the team.
