As the Chief Executive Officer of Pettinelli Financial Partners (PFP), Jon is responsible for the leadership, planning, and broad executive management of the firm’s strategic objectives. He oversees and coordinates the day-to-day administration, information systems, client service, human resources, training, processes, and overall client experience for PFP.
After completing a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from San Jose State University, Jon joined Pettinelli Financial Partners in 2005. His role began streamlining day-to-day operations, including implementing advanced financial planning software as a more sophisticated planning tool for advisors and clients while strengthening financial processes and procedures, continuing in the growth and evolution of the firm.
Jon purchased the firm from his father, and founder, Dennis Pettinelli, in January 2019. While Dennis remains an active contributor and ambassador for PFP, Jon has led the firm through structural and organizational changes focused on enhancing client service, advisor development, operational efficiencies, and overall firm growth. Under his leadership, he, along with the PFP team, has continued to expand the firm’s collaborative team-based model by combining long-standing client relationships with experienced leadership, financial planning resources, evolving technologies, and enhanced client experiences.
Jon holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®), Behavioral Financial Advisor™ (BFA™), Certification for Long-Term Care® (CLTC®), Financial Services Specialist™ (FSS™), and Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow® (LUTCF®) designations. He also maintains his Series 7 registration through LPL Financial, Series 66 registration through Stratos Wealth Partners, and California Insurance License #0G131152.
In his spare time, Jon enjoys meeting up with friends to watch or attend sporting events such as games featuring the San Francisco Giants, Golden State Warriors, and San Francisco 49ers. He also enjoys barbequing and attending Music on the Square in Redwood City during the summer months.
